Deposition Services: My First Work at Home Transcription Job

Published by ladyofthehour at 4:53 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

In 2005, after working a month at a stressful law firm, I decided I had enough.  After all of the late nights, and preposterous egos, I had to find a work at home job and fast.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to do too much researching.  A friend of mine had suggested Deposition Services.  With this work at home job, you would be responsible for transcribing immigration hearings.  But unlike where I was working now, there would be no bosses, traffic or work clothes since everything could be done right from my bedroom.

So, I went on and applied. A day or so after, I quit my job with the law firm.  I was so scared because at the time I didn’t have anything else lined up.  But lucky for me I got a phone call from Deposition Services.  I was invited to a seminar discussing their work at home job opportunity.

At the beginning of the seminar, I had to take a basic grammar test proving I could put sentences together.  After that they discussed the pay rate and other tidbits related to the opportunity.  At the conclusion of the seminar, they gave us a tour of the office, placing emphasis on the area we would be dropping the tapes off at.

That was one of the biggest disadvantages associated the job… having to drop the tapes off at their location.  Besides that, it was a typical work at home job.  Not only can you set your own schedule, but you are not limited to how much you can make.  In fact, one worker made $5,000 a month typing for them!

So, if you live in or near the Rockville, MD., and you have legal experience, give Deposition Services a try.  Granted, it won’t be for everyone, but if you’re looking for stable work at home employment, it’s definitely a good choice.
